We are working more with companies and organisation, at the executive and manager level, because of the increasing awareness of Mental and Emotional Health issues and how these are affecting key personnel.

Key personnel struggling with personal issues can impact productivity, profitability, implementation, change management, sales and the day to day operations.

Medically & Personal Development

Commercially we are just beginning to explore the possibilities of what can be achieved with The Human Algorithm® and the different things we created to use with it. This includes being part of the movement towards better designed Artificial Intelligence (AI) and the many different applications that it will be put too.

Within the commercial environment our work has applications for Management, Problem Analysis, Business Culture Development & Change, for Changing Problem Solving Cultures and for developing new solutions to business and organisational challenges.

This includes: Team Development; Business Development; Problem Management; Crisis Management and Problem Resolution.

Medically and for Personal Development; we are focused on designing and providing better quality, more effective and longer lasting solutions to the growing number of personal problems that would fall under the classification of being Psychosomatic.

Psychosomatic Problems would include Weight, Obesity and Eating Disorders; Depression, Stress, Anxiety, PTSD, Anger Management and other conditions which are becoming more common.

You can see that these types of issues bridge someone's personal and professional life. This is why they become so destructive for executives and managers, they impact both work and home and it can be very difficult to find respite. This leads to sleeping problems, self medication with alcohol and drugs, stress, anxiety and a range of other issues.

Developing Real Human Intelligence (HI)

The Problem Pyramid, Problem Populations & Designing Solutions

Our work with Human Algorithm's® shows us that at any one time about 15% of any problem population is in a position to fix and improve their problem.  (As an example; all those with weight problems in a country would be the problem population for weight control)

Those 15% are in the top of the Problem Pyramid and if they take the right actions, over the right period of time, their problems will change. (Another way to understand this is that their probability for achieving a successful outcome is increased when they are in the top of the Problem Pyramid and reduced when they are in the bottom).

This means that about 85% of any problem population are not naturally in the right position to fix and improve their problem. This applies across personal, business, organisational and any other structure, system or process which involves Human Behaviour.

This is important to understand as those in the top of the Problem Pyramid will require a different solution to those in the bottom of the Problem Pyramid. And the bottom of the Problem Pyramid divides into sectors as you move from the top to the bottom; each of those sectors requires a different solution.

Think of this process like a train journey. You have a starting point and a journeys end. Along the way there are stations that you stop at. If you get on the wrong train or get off at the wrong station then you don't make it to the right journeys end. Unfortunately most people get on the wrong train and get off at the wrong station and keep their problems.

This helps to explain why success rates with so many solutions, that are applied at scale, fail to work to their expected potential.

In reality; if a solution works with the top of the Problem Pyramid; then it is unlikely to work with the bottom.

A failure to understand this process is what is leading to many compromised solutions and, as a result, an increase in the number, size and complexity of the problem populations.

Our work focuses on understanding when the top of the Problem Pyramid is relevant and when it isn't. We also focus on moving more problems from the bottom of the problem pyramid to the top and then creating the opportunity for them to be changed.

Original Thinking

Over the course of many years, we have looked at many problems. We have provided our view and often our view and approach has been considered original. As time passes our analysis has proven correct and the outcomes that we voiced have come to pass.

We bring an original point of view to many progressive problems.

For example: Many problems that have developed to scale we consider to be Elliptical Problems.

Elliptical Problems

Elliptical Movement: The earth moves around the sun and continues to move through different orbits. As it moves through its annual phases it continues to return to the start point and then it begins again. The elliptical phases have a constant and consistent influence upon the earth and slight changes influence many factors including the type of weather we experience and its consistency.

Problems such as population health management, including problems such as weight, obesity, diabetes and allergies are all Elliptical Problems. As are the War on Drugs and many other Social Problems.

The growth and development of these problems was foreseeable and predictable and relates to certain key factors that were allowed to influence the development of these problems and which continue to power the problems.

To change and influence the Elliptical Problems development we have to return (the Elliptical bit) to those key points and introduce new influences and/or remove or modify the existing influences. This is larger scale thinking and planning that we can assist with.

Elliptical Problems also affect corporations and often the largest and most highly valued ones. They often fall into this process because of their ability to buy the best talent, buy out competitors and because they lead the market. This tends to introduce blind spots into their actions and thinking.

Artificial Intelligence (AI)

In 1996 IBM's Big Blue computer won a chess match. Since then many claims have been made for AI. In reality, AI needs more than a fancy algorithm and super fast computers to move out of the experimental stage and into a practical and useful life with humanity.

We think that AI needs The Human Algorithm® to become a more practical and reflective example of the good and bad qualities of Human Intelligence.

Human Intelligence has more components than logic. Emotions, Feelings and Actions are driven by something else. We think that our Confluence process and The Human Algorithm® Matrix are more reflective of how the Human Being functions and processes, reaches decisions and undertakes actions.

It is by being able to understand, map out and combine all these things in a more realistic way that an AI foundation structure can be developed and used.

Once in use, a realistic AI foundation needs to be able to really connect and combine to form a global architecture that is not lost each time equipment and hardware are updated. Intelligence grows and builds upon experience, knowledge and demand.

Our work with creating The Human Algorithm® Project has given us original material and structures that we can use for problem analysis, measuring progress and achieving insights into complex and difficult problem structures. It also allows us to create effective and long lasting approaches to solving and managing problems. Including the creation of better systems, processes and structures.

Used the right way, we believe that our work can be used to create new and more realistic solutions to human involved problems through creating and providing more realistic architectures that actually work with the different levels of the Problem Pyramid. 

Our approach helps us to see and understand the invisible forces that create Emotional and Psychological influences on people and the Behaviours and Activities they engage in.

What we do can be applied at a large and small scale. From a large organisational structure, to medium sized businesses, to individuals.

We can provide consultancy in this area and we can license our material, the product of our work and The Human Algorithm® systems and structures.

Our work has excellence and quality at its heart. We take this to a new level by working with individuals who have complex and difficult problems that compromise and degrade the quality of their lives. To help them we created Problem Mastery Programmes.

Problem Mastery Programmes

At the personal level we provide programmes that are designed to help someone move into the top of the Problem Pyramid. This leads to a new understanding and engagement with the problems they experience. Over the course of the programme we help them to improve, fix and change their relationship with their problems so as to give them freedom from it and Mastery over it.

We work with all type of problems, from Depression to Eating Disorders; Weight and Obesity; Anxiety and PTSD.

For example;

  1. Most of the time, people with weight problems are in a position where they will fail with dieting and weight control. They are in the bottom of the Problem Pyramid for Dieting. This is regardless of whether they go to organisations like Weight Watchers; Slimming World or are using dieting products.


    Over time: About 15% of all those with weight problems will move in and out of the top of the pyramid and while they are in this Zone they have an increased probability that they will succeed with dieting and weight control.


    Between these two zones there is the Maybe Zone. When someone is in this zone, if enough things go right then they may be able to move into the top of the Problem Pyramid. Usually they migrate back to the bottom.


    The challenge with all weight control and dieting programmes is in two parts;


  2. How do they get more people into the top of the pyramid of dieting? 
  3. How do they then increase the long term success of those in the top of the pyramid? 

    This is what The Human Algorithm consultancy has focused on achieving: A process that works with individual problems to produce more effective sustainable long term results, that can be replicated.

Building Better Business & Organisational  Structures 

Businesses and Organisations today need to be looking for opportunities to forge new opportunities through change and improvement.


When it comes to looking at and understanding how to make a business or organisation better; the Problem Triangle also applies.


Because a business is making a profit or claiming to be hitting its share holder objectives; it does not mean that it is problem free or that it has not lost its way.


Often a business or organisation fails a long time before there is public awareness of failure.


We can work with business and organisations across a wide range of issues. Including the Tempo of the business dynamics (How things are really working together and how to improve them).


We also work with Developing and Improving of Business and Corporate Cultures; it is surprising how often this area is ignored as it provides a thread that goes through the fabric of the business and corporate structures. Often negative cultures develop which undermine the fabric of the structure and cause disparate problems to develop. We can help to change this.


We use our knowledge, experience and expertise to filter business and organisational structures into Zones. Those that are working and those that are not. We then continue this process with units and teams to establish an architecture that we can use to begin to improve and change the existing structure and lift it from the bottom of the Problem Pyramid to the top.


We don't attempt to blind our clients with pseudoscience. Instead we focus on pragmatic reality and achieving measurable sustainable results. As a result of this approach we often end up working with a variety of hybrid problems and challenges.
